概要
What happens when a military kid who fell in love with basketball at six years old becomes one of the fastest players legendary coach Pat Summitt ever coached? In this powerful episode, former University of Tennessee Lady Vols star and WNBA professional Meighan Simmons shares her incredible journey from shooting 500 shots before school with her dad to competing at the highest levels of women's basketball.
Meighan opens up about the discipline, sacrifice, and faith that shaped her into a two-time SEC Player of the Year and how playing under Coach Pat Summitt at Tennessee taught her that life is bigger than basketball. She gets real about handling pressure, dealing with loneliness playing overseas, questioning her purpose, and discovering that who you are off the court matters more than any stat line.
Whether you're a young basketball player chasing your dreams, a parent supporting your athlete's journey, a basketball coach building champions, or anyone interested in sports psychology and athlete development, Meighan's story will inspire you to compete with heart, lead with character, and remember that your purpose lasts long after the final buzzer sounds.
In This Episode:
- How growing up in a military family shaped Meighan's competitive edge

- The mental strategies elite athletes use to handle pressure and self-doubt
- What nobody tells you about playing professional basketball overseas
- How to build identity beyond performance
