  • November 3, 2025 - Football Week 9 Recap - Volleyball State Tournaments - Cross-Country Conference Recap (Bentonville and Providence Academy)

    The regular season in Arkansas and Oklahoma is in the next-to-last weekend and highlights included the battle for the 4A-1 Conference championship between Elkins and Gravette, the first conference win for Siloam Springs since the 2020 season and Rogers closing in on an opening round bye for the first time since 2006,

    The state volleyball tournaments saw Fayetteville and Farmington fall in their respective championship games while Ozark Catholic repeated last year's run to the state semifinals only to run into defending state champion Hackett.

    Conference cross-country meets also ran this week as teams prepared for the state championship at Oaklawn Racetrack in Hot Springs. We speak with Bentonville coach Michael Power and Providence Academy coach Daniel Ramsey on their respective seasons.

  • October 27, 2025 - Football Recap - Volleyball Regional Recap (Ozark Catholic) - Cross Country

    The football season enters its eighth week in Arkansas and Oklahoma with the Bentonville-Rogers game living up to its billing with the Tigers defense stopping the Mounties on the final play. Other key contests included Gravette's defense holding off Prairie Grove and Fayetteville claiming the Battle of the Bulldogs against Springdale.

    In volleyball, the regular season ended for the larger schools with Bentonville and Farmington claiming conference championships. Huntsville advanced to the finals of the 4A North Region tournament and move on to the state tournament this week. Ozark Catholic returns to the 2A state tournament after reaching the final four the previous year. Coach Peggy Estes speaks about her young squad.

    Northwest Arkansas entrants claimed three of the four overall tennis championships this week at Burns Park in North Little Rock with the Rogers trio of Harrison Deer (singles) William Edwards and Aiden Matthews (doubles) would make the most of their second chances after falling in their semifinals the previous week. Fayetteville's Olivia Menendez and Lily Watson won the girls' doubles in a rematch of their 6A title game the previous week.

    And the Providence Academy Patriots and Lady Patriots swept the 3A-1 meet in Ekins, placing four of the top five boys' runners and taking the first six spots in the girls' race.

    The football season in Arkansas and Oklahoma are at the midway point, and we recap the week's action.

    We also recap the state tennis tournaments and hear from Fayetteville coach Darin Phelan, whose teams hosted the 6A tournament and hear from Haas Hall Fayetteville coach Greg Kessman, whose team captured its third consecutive boys' title in Class 3A.

    We recap the conference volleyball tournaments, the overall state golf tournaments, and area cross country meets.

    We also start our preview of high school basketball with the season for non-football schools starting October 20. We visit with Thaden School boys' coach Greg White, whose team will be one of those who open earlier than the football schools.

  • October 13, 2025 - Football Recap (Rogers-Bentonville) - Boys Golf (Rogers-Gravette) - Tennis

    The regular football season entered the second half with a number of offensive showcases highlighting the action. We recap the game between Rogers and Bentonville West with senior linebacker Troy Chandler and coach Chad Harbison.

    Bentonville Tigers coach Jody Grant celebrated his 100th win midway through his tenth season leading the team, and he credits the players and coaches for the team's success.

    The state tournaments in boys' golf took place with Rogers claiming their second 6A championship in three years. Coach Marcus Alexander said the team played its best golf when it mattered most. Meanwhile, Gravette played host to the 4A tournament at the Highlands Course in Bella Vista, and coach Bryan Bearden spoke about the boys' and girls' programs, particularly senior Tegan Muldoon, who will be playing at the overall state girls' tournament in Little Rock.

    We also wrap up the regular season for volleyball in the 4A and smaller classifications heading into their respective district tournaments. The tennis season also winds down with the state classification tournaments taking place this coming week, and we also look back to past state championships in our Time Machine segment.

  • October 6, 2005 - Football Recap - Girls High School Golf (Rogers Interview) - Cross-Country Recap - Tennis Preview

    The high school football season enters the midway point of the regular season in Arkansas and Oklahoma, with the feature of the 7A West between Rogers and Fayetteville. Bentonville coach Jody Grant also reached a milestone as he notched his 100th win as head coach. We bring you scores around the area.

    The girls' state golf tournaments took place during the week. The Rogers Lady Mounties won the 6A West championship and moved closer to Mount St. Mary's for the state championship. Coach Jamie Rains speaks about her athletes, who will all return next year with some talented freshmen added to the lineup. Gravette senior Tegan Muldoon was runner-up in the 4A tournament and will head to the overall state tournament in a couple of weeks, while Shiloh Christian was runner-up in the team competition. Kingston would finish second in the 1A tournament.

    We also highlight cross-country, with the Huntsville Invitational earlier in the week and the Chili Pepper Classic at the University of Arkansas.

    And we preview the state tennis tournaments for the individual classes followed by the overall championships the following week.

  • September 29, 2025 - Football Recap (Gentry Interview) - Volleyball Mid-Season Update (Bentonville, Fayetteville, Farmington, Pea Ridge and Prairie Grove Interviews)

    The football season has entered conference play, and the week saw Bentonville West use a dominating defensive effort to surprise Fayetteville. Elsewhere, Bentonville pulled away from Har-Ber in the second half and Rogers put away Fort Smith Northside with a very impressive defensive performance.

    Among smaller schools, Greenwood continued its home winning streak after pulling away in the second half against Shiloh Christian in a rematch of last year's 6A title. Elkins won an early season showdown against formerly unbeaten Gentry, Huntsville handed Berryville its first defeat of the year and Prairie Grove notched its first win of the year over Green Forest.

    In Oklahoma, the Jay Bulldogs posted the shock of the week over formerly unbeaten Verdigris in a 12-9 struggle that was the first win for Jay. Stilwell was close to Poteau before falling 31-30 and Wyandotte dealt Colcord its first defeat.

    In Missouri, Monett won an offensive contest over McDonald County 50-40 while Webb City edged Neosho in a 46-43 nailbiter.

    We also check in on several volleyball teams as the season hits the midway point. Bentonville would sweep Fayetteville in the first match between 6A contenders, while Farmington remained locked with Shiloh Christian in the 5A West and Pea Ridge is enjoying a breakout season, joining Prairie Grove, Gravette and Huntsville at the top of the 4A-1 Conference.

    We also prepare for the upcoming state golf tournaments with a trip through our time machine as we look back to the 2020, 2015 and 2010 seasons. The girls' tournaments take place this week.

    The football season in Arkansas and Oklahoma wrap up their pre-conference/district schedules, and we speak with Farmington Coach Tommy Tice, who is hoping to build on his Hall of Fame career in his second season leading the Cardinals. We also visit with Bentonville West Coach Bryan Pratt, whose team has never missed a post-season berth since the school's inception.

    We also take a look at the volleyball season, which is nearing the mid-way point of its schedule, as well as the high school golf season, which is winding down as state tournaments for the girls' teams take place at the end of the month.

    We enter the third week of the high school football season in the area, and we visit with Rogers Mounties coach Chad Harbison and seniors Jeff Reagan and Braxton Lindsey, who spoke about their season to date as they get ready for conference play,

    We also speak with Springdale Bulldogs Coach Brett Hobbs about his team, which hosted a first-round playoff game last year, but have struggled in the early going with a young team learning the somewhat complicated double-wing (or triple-option) offense.

    We also have some notes from the high school golf season with what may be a preview of the 6A state tournament at Fayetteville and the Mountie/War Eagle Invitational. It's also the second week of the cross-country season with Bentonville High School hosting the Sugar Creek Invitational
