And I'd love to hear from you!
In this episode of Body Like You, I'm teaching one of the simplest and most powerful brain tools I know: obstacle prediction. It's something I use in my own eating and work on with every client, and it's the difference between white-knuckling your way through the week and calmly solving food problems before they ever happen.
I start with why perfectionism is such a miscalculation with food, and why eating well and fat loss have far more to do with caretaking than achieving. Then I walk through obstacle prediction itself: how to run the tape forward and use your rational brain before you're hungry, tired, and emotional. I break down the three categories of obstacles I see get in people's way over and over: your own thoughts and emotions (including the fear of fat gain), logistical obstacles, and people pleasing.
If you struggle with emotional eating, nighttime overeating, perfectionism, all-or-nothing thinking, or staying on track with fat loss when life gets busy, this episode will help you stop being ambushed by the same obstacles and start solving them in advance, without shame.
Next week we'll cover the flip side of this tool: debriefing.
Happy eating!
