Let me introduce the new book, Awake and Reconcile. It is now available on Amazon. I have published it by the grace of God. It combines Discerning the Times, first published in 2013, and the 40 Days of Reconciliation, published in 2014.

The 40 Days of Reconciliation had never been on Amazon. I had to update the Designing the Times. From the 40 Days of Reconciliation journey, I decided to merge the two books into one titled 'Awake and Reconcile.' It's now on Amazon. You can purchase a paperback copy at $35 or a kindle of version at $10.

If you would like to support the podcast then please Go to Amazon and buy this book. Part of this income directly supports the podcast ministry.

The podcast is usually free. So the books are deliberately on sale to raise funds to support the podcasting ministry. Maybe I need to tell you a little bit about the podcasting ministry, why it needs to be sustained. It communicates to God's people wherever they are worldwide. We can't travel to where they are to share the good news of the gospel and encouragement. They can now listen to the podcast from wherever they are. This is how we will help people to recognize the true God who loves them. These podcasts have the potential to save somebody who is lost and refresh someone in need of encouragement.

One way to support is to buy a copy of this book. You can also buy more to give out as gifts. Alternatively, donate them to students in your community or institution.

This book, Awake and Reconcile, talks about God's patience, curses and blessings. This is not to scare anyone. It is just to help us know that there is a consequence for our conduct. If we obey, obviously, as the scripture says, we shall be blessed. But if we continue to disobey, we shall reap the fruits of what we saw. There's no compromise on that. There's no need to confuse ourselves over that. It's very clear.

We are supposed to be ambassadors of light wherever we are. And that's why this message of reconciliation continues to come. Many populations continue to witness the deterioration of social relationships. The body of Christ is called to set an example through our conduct. We are supposed to love the way the Lord Jesus loved. We don't need to fight for our own interests or cause divisions. We should not hate or dislike people with different opinions from ours. So that's why the message of reconciliation is very strong at this point. It's needed worldwide.

Without Christ, issues will be strong and bigger, causing more reasons to hate, dislike or avoid. But the love of God is a healing power. It works when we allow it to transcend in our hearts. I have never seen anywhere else where the love of God transforms individuals like in the body of Christ. He teaches us to love everyone, including those who are hard to love.

The book teaches us to seek Christ, reconcile with Him and learn to love His people and bear fruit.

    Unlimited Access

Amazon has enabled trial reading for 90 days. You can take this opportunity and read now before that time elapses. You can go to amazon.com, and search for the book 'Awake and Reconcile'. You can also go to attune40.com, then books link on the menu. That page will show you a direct link to the book on Amazon. We thank God for Amazon because Amazon has made it possible for us to publish these books.

God bless Amazon. Of course, when we talk of Amazon, we're talking about the people behind it.

    2026/03/05

Mr. Steve Ward, the founder of Steps Ministries, has a wealth of experience in helping individuals prevent addiction. He also aids in their spiritual growth. Ward shares invaluable insights into the intricacies of addiction. He discusses its impact on families and the importance of proactive parenting. Steps Ministries was founded eight years ago. It is a unique nonprofit. The organization is dedicated to helping individuals improve their lives. It also helps them deepen their relationship with God. Steve Ward explains that the organization provides a variety of resources. These include online courses, videos, podcasts, and articles. All are aimed at promoting personal growth and addiction prevention. Ward emphasizes the connection between emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being, asserting that these elements are intertwined. He believes that by following God’s principles, individuals can lead happier lives while mitigating the risk of addiction.

    The Challenge of Addiction

Ward candidly discusses the complexities of dealing with addiction. He describes it as a compulsive habit. This habit can develop over time. He notes that addictions can stem from various sources, including mental health issues and societal pressures. Ward shared a striking statistic. Three out of four teenagers will try some form of an addictive substance. This alarming trend highlights the need for proactive measures to address the issue before it escalates.

    Proactive Parenting Strategies

One of the core messages from Ward’s discussion is the importance of proactive parenting. He introduces the PACE framework designed to help parents navigate the challenges of raising teenagers. PACE stands for Preparation, Awareness, Connection, Education, and Steps. Each component is essential in equipping parents to effectively support their children:

    1. Preparation: Parents must be ready for the changes that come with adolescence. They need to understand that their children will face new challenges and temptations.
    2. Awareness: Being aware of a child's social circles and emotional state is crucial. Parents should know if their children are exposed to drugs or alcohol. They should also be attentive to signs of anxiety or depression.
    3. Connection: As children grow, maintaining a connection becomes more challenging. Ward emphasizes the need for empathy and open communication, urging parents to listen more and scold less.
    4. Education: Parents should seek resources to better understand the nuances of teenage behavior and addiction. Steps Ministries offers tools and information to aid in this process.
    5. Steps: Having a plan in place before problems arise is vital. This plan should outline how parents intend to support their children through life's challenges.

    Key Takeaways

Steve Ward’s insights on addiction and parenting highlight the importance of early intervention and proactive measures. By fostering an environment of connection and awareness, parents can play a pivotal role in preventing addiction in their children. The PACE framework is a practical guide for parents. It empowers them to navigate the complexities of adolescence with intention and care.

In a world where addiction is a pressing concern, Steve Ward’s work with Steps Ministries provides hope. It also offers practical solutions for families. By embracing proactive parenting and spiritual growth, we can create a supportive environment that encourages healthier choices for our children.

  • The Intersection of Brain Science and Faith: An Interview with Professor Angela Deulen
    2026/03/02

    Introduction

In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, many individuals seek transformation in their spiritual lives. In a recent episode of the 40 Days of Reconciliation podcast, Professor Angela Deulen shared her insights. She is a psychology professor at California Baptist University. She discussed the powerful connection between our brains and our spiritual experiences. This post delves into her enlightening discussion. It offers valuable takeaways for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of transformation in the context of faith.

Understanding Transformation: The Role of Neuroplasticity

One of the key concepts discussed by Dr. Deulen is neuroplasticity, which refers to the brain’s remarkable ability to change and adapt. She explained that our brains are not fixed; rather, they can be reshaped through our experiences and choices. She gave an example comparing neural pathways to muscles. Just as muscles become stronger through consistent use, neural pathways in our brains strengthen with repetition. When we focus on spiritual disciplines, such as prayer and meditation, we stimulate the brain. This stimulation aligns with God’s intentions.

The Importance of Renewing the Mind

Dr. Deulen emphasized the significance of Romans 12, which calls for believers to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. She highlighted that accepting Christ brings the Holy Spirit into our lives. However, it does not automatically remove worldly influences or sin. Instead, individuals must actively participate in renewing their minds through obedience to God’s word. This can be challenging, especially when faced with difficulties, but it is essential for spiritual growth.

    Navigating Feelings and Spiritual Awareness

A common struggle among believers is the feeling of disconnect from the Holy Spirit. Dr. Deulen noted that our society is heavily influenced by emotions, which can cloud our spiritual awareness. She likened this to a noisy environment that makes it difficult to hear the subtle presence of the Holy Spirit. We can quiet our minds by engaging in practices, such as prayer and reflection. These practices nourish our brains. As a result, we enhance our ability to recognize the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives.

The Challenge of Sin and Transformation

Addressing the issue of sin, Dr. Deulen explained that acknowledging and confessing our sins is a crucial part of the transformation process. Many individuals prefer to avoid confronting their sins, opting instead for superficial displays of spirituality. However, true transformation requires vulnerability and the willingness to do hard things, such as confessing and repenting. This not only strengthens our connection to God but also enhances the health of our brains.

    Conclusion: Key Takeaways

Dr. Angela Deulen’s insights offer profound guidance for those seeking transformation in their spiritual lives. By understanding the brain’s capacity for change, we can cultivate a deeper connection to our faith. It’s important to renew our minds. To experience the fullness of the Holy Spirit, we must engage in spiritual disciplines. We should confront sin and allow ourselves to be transformed by God’s word.
