Four years into our adoption journey, I'm reflecting on what being an adoptive mom has taught me so far.
In this episode, I share how adoption is both beautiful and complex and how we navigate both right now.
I also talk about the realities of trauma and loss that are often part of adoption, and why it's so important to hold space for that. I share why I believe "to be clear is to be kind" when talking with our daughter about her story. Our children deserve honest, age-appropriate answers because honesty builds trust. My hope is that she always knows she can ask questions, share her feelings, and come to us with curiosity as she grows.
Whether you're an adoptive parent, connected to adoption in some way, or simply want to better understand the complexities of adoption, I hope this conversation encourages you in the most amazing ways.
