This episode was recorded live during Georgia Dusk's Oral History Collection at JusticeNOW2024 titled, "We Tell Our Own Stories"
In this episode of SPARK Off!, we hear from Dr. Krystal Redman (they/she), SPARK’s Executive Director, as they share their journey from a Black Panther-rooted upbringing in Los Angeles to her work in Reproductive Justice in the South.
As part of the We Tell Our Own Stories oral history project, produced by Georgia Dusk at SPARK’s JusticeNOW2025 Conference, Dr. Redman discusses their path through education and public health, the challenges of navigating systems not built for them, and her eventual connection to SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW! She emphasizes the intersections of social justice, healthcare, and the need for a cultural shift in public health.
