A shopping trip, two knives, and questions of competency. On June 3rd, 2024, 38-year-old Margot Wood and her son, Julian, stopped at the Giant Eagle in North Olmsted, Ohio, to pick up groceries. As Margot pushed Julian in the shopping cart to her silver minivan, the mother and son were attacked by a woman wielding a knife. Three-year-old Julian was killed. 32-year-old, Bionca Ellis had a history of mental illness. But no one could’ve imagined such a brutal attack in broad daylight with people all around. As the case made its way to trial there were questions as to whether or not Ellis would be held criminally responsible.
