Want to hear something I've learned recently?...
Just because I can lift something doesn’t always mean I should.
Somewhere between cottage season, flower pots, and unloading trucks, I’ve realized that strength in our Me Now Years looks a little different — and honestly, a whole lot wiser.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about real-life strength — the kind that helps us carry groceries, lift luggage, paddle kayaks, garden, travel, climb stairs, and simply move through life with more confidence and independence.
We'll be talking about why strength training becomes even more important after 35 and menopause; how muscle supports our metabolism, joints, bones, balance, and confidence; and why combining strength training with cardio is one of the best things we can do for long-term health and longevity.
I'm also going to share the Canadian healthy aging recommendations for adults over 50 and why consistency matters far more than extreme workouts or perfection.
Most importantly, this episode is a reminder that strength training in our Me Now Years is not about becoming smaller — it’s about becoming more capable, resilient, and supported in the life we want to live.
