• Don’t Tell Us How to Be Mets Fans
    2026/08/12

Apparently, we pissed off Mets Instagram.

After our Jefry Yan Reel sparked way more debate than we expected — including people questioning whether we're even Mets fans — Will, LeeJay and Erik jumped back on the microphones for an emergency rebuttal.

LeeJay explains what he actually dislikes about Yan celebrating every strikeout. Erik, who has watched Yan pitch before and doesn't mind the antics nearly as much, explains why Mets fans should probably get used to it. Then the conversation becomes something much bigger: Who gets to decide what being a “real fan” looks like?

We get into criticizing a team you've supported for decades, spending money on a bad product, the danger of late-season false hope, whether this Mets run could influence future roster decisions, and why fandom doesn't require wearing rose-colored glasses.

Three Mets fans. Different opinions. Plenty of profanity.

    Welcome to the rebuttal.

  • 110. Sophie Cunningham Debate, Mets' Celebration Culture & Anthony Volpe’s Fall
    2026/08/11

The Dummies are back with plenty to discuss. Will and LeeJay break down the controversy surrounding Sophie Cunningham and the WNBA, debate whether NFL teams are getting too soft—or too smart—in training camp, and wonder whether the Giants should be trying to change the way Jaxon Dart plays.

Then it's baseball: Jefry Yan's celebrations already have Will and LeeJay yelling at the TV, the Mets may be creating some dangerous late-season false hope, and Anthony Volpe's fall from potential Yankees cornerstone to Triple-A raises a bigger question about how quickly New York fans crown—and abandon—young players.

Plus: LeeJay goes to war with Greyhound, an alleged former NFL player's very public Florida adventure leaves the guys speechless, Will may be heading to a Mets speed-dating event, and the episode closes with a Mount Rushmore of great New York athletes who still aren't in their sport's Hall of Fame.

  • MLB Trade Deadline Special: Mets Sell, Yankees Add Offense & Dodgers Land Tarik Skubal
    2026/08/04

The MLB Trade Deadline has passed, and the three dummies went live to process everything that happened.

Will, LeeJay and EriK break down the Mets’ seven trades, whether David Stearns actually improved the organization and why restocking the farm system does not automatically provide a path back to contention. The conversation turns into a larger debate about the Mets’ player-development operation, Freddy Peralta’s collapse and whether an analytics-heavy approach can take the feel of the game away from pitchers.

The crew also examines the Yankees’ additions, the needs Brian Cashman left unresolved and whether Cashman has essentially earned a job for life by keeping the Yankees in contention every season.

Then comes the biggest controversy of the deadline: Tarik Skubal joining the Dodgers. Are the Dodgers damaging competitive balance, or are they simply showing the killer instinct that other wealthy franchises lack? The guys debate which teams can still beat Los Angeles and whether having the biggest names guarantees anything in October.

Plus: live questions from Larry and Luke, a Bears-Jets bet that could cost LeeJay his mustache, early Giants expectations and another plea for the Mets to stop living off the 1986 championship.

  • 109. Giants & Jets Hype vs. Reality: New York Football’s Biggest Letdowns
    2026/07/28

The beginning of NFL training camp always brings optimism, but New York football fans know exactly how dangerous optimism can be.

Will and LeeJay revisit the Giants and Jets teams that entered a season surrounded by major expectations. From Aaron Rodgers’ four-play Jets debut and Vinny Testaverde’s devastating 1999 injury to Plaxico Burress derailing the 2008 Giants and the collapse of Ben McAdoo’s 2017 team, which seasons lived up to the hype, and which ones completely fell apart?

The guys also react to LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers, debate whether the Mets should seriously consider trading Francisco Lindor, a quick discussion about whether this is the worst Mets season they have ever experienced, and look back at what ESPN and SportsCenter used to mean to sports fans.

Plus: LeeJay’s review of The Odyssey, Will’s visit to Tropicana Field, expensive airline seats, clueless airport passengers and the latest proof that flying has become unnecessarily complicated.

  • 108. Mets in Crisis: David Stearns, Francisco Lindor, and What Comes Next
    2026/07/14

Steve Cohen says David Stearns is not going anywhere, but after another disastrous Mets season, should the owner really trust the executive who constructed this roster?

Will, LeeJay and Erik react to Cohen’s revealing podcast appearance, the lack of tough follow-up questions, concerns about the Mets’ farm system and the growing speculation surrounding Francisco Lindor. Is Lindor truly captain material? Could the Mets actually trade him before the deadline? And why does Stearns continue operating like he is still running a small-market franchise?

The crew also recaps its Fourth of July trip to Atlanta, including the chaos of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, the experience surrounding Truist Park and the College Football Hall of Fame’s AI inexplicably turning Will into a completely different person.

During halftime, Will shares the full story of his first singles mixer and speed-dating event—including why he almost drove away without entering, how exhausting 15 consecutive conversations became and whether he plans to contact any of the three women whose numbers he received.

Plus: what the United States is missing in soccer development, the problem with “non-competitive pitches,” and whether rap concerts provide enough of an actual show.

  • 107. Knicks Joy, Mets Rage & New York’s Most Miserable Fanbases
    2026/06/30

The Knicks championship glow is still very real, especially for LeeJay, who starts the episode by doing the unthinkable: apologizing to Yankees fans for judging how much they enjoy winning. From there, the guys look at what the Knicks should do next, whether running it back is the right move, and how the rest of the Eastern Conference stacks up after another round of NBA movement.

Then things shift to the Nets, Julius Randle, Brooklyn’s failed attempt to steal New York from the Knicks, and whether the franchise needs to take a major swing just to become relevant again. The halftime topic turns into a full New York sports misery ranking, with the Mets, Jets, Giants, Yankees, Nets, Rangers, Islanders, and Knicks all getting put under the microscope.

And then the Mets segment goes off the rails in the best way. LeeJay returns with a full rant on Carlos Mendoza, David Stearns, Steve Cohen, Citi Field still being packed, Juan Soto, accountability, and why Mets fans are reaching a breaking point. The episode closes with a Mt. Rushmore of athletes whose careers were cut short or never fully became what they should have been, including Bo Jackson, Derrick Rose, Grant Hill, Matt Harvey, Brandon Roy, Terrell Davis, Jose Fernandez, Greg Oden, and more.

  • Mets Fire Carlos Mendoza: Is David Stearns Next?
    2026/06/26

Carlos Mendoza is out as manager of the New York Mets, and Will and Erik jumped on for an emergency episode to react to the news.

The guys break down why the firing felt inevitable, why Mendoza was part of the problem but not the only problem, and why David Stearns, Steve Cohen, the players, and the entire organization deserve blame for where this season has gone. They also get into the Mets’ awful stretch dating back to last season, the roster construction issues, the failed “run prevention” philosophy, Mark Vientos playing first base, the future of David Stearns, and who could be next in the manager’s chair.

Is Alex Cora the obvious target? Would Carlos Beltran make sense? Should Stearns even be trusted to pick the next manager if he’s already on the hot seat?

This wasn’t supposed to be a regular episode, but the Mets ruined everybody’s Friday!

  • 106. The Knicks Won, New York Lost Its Mind
    2026/06/19

It's almost been a week since the New York Knicks won their first NBA championship, and the buzz hasn't worn off just yet. A couple of the Dummies, Will Hernandez and Erik Pimentel, spend a considerable time discussing the aftermath of the championship, especially the parade that happened in NYC on Thursday.

Elsewhere, we discuss the impact the World Cup is having on traffic, and whether we'll see the Giants and Jets keep the grass at MetLife Stadium.

We finally get back to discussing the Mets: it's grim!

We also look at Patrick Mahomes' new contract and whether any other current young NFL quarterbacks will make that kind of bank.

Our Mt. Rushmore this week is pro-wrestling coded: the biggest "busts".

    Please enjoy!
