This week on Pump the Brakes, we use the Formula One summer break to hand out Cadillac’s midseason report card.
This is not a full race-by-race recap. Instead, we look at the bigger picture: what Cadillac got right in the first half, where the project still needs serious work, and what the second half of the season needs to prove.
The headline? Cadillac look like a serious Formula One operation with a slow car. Pérez and Bottas give the team credibility, the identity is strong, and the development direction has signs of life — but reliability, qualifying pace, and overall performance still need major improvement.
We grade the driver lineup, operations, reliability, performance, development direction, fan identity, and the overall first-half project. We also touch on Colton Herta’s underwhelming F2 season and why the American driver pipeline still needs proof.
Pump the Brakes is back every Wednesday, no matter what.
