The crisis of Missing and Missed Indigenous Persons, often abbreviated as MMIP, affects countless Indigenous families and communities across North America. Despite decades of advocacy, many disappearances remain unsolved, many victims remain unidentified, and many families continue their search for answers, justice and healing.

In this podcast episode, we’re exploring how historical injustices, jurisdictional challenges and gaps in data contribute to this crisis. We’re examining how Indigenous activists, researchers, governments and technology professionals are working together to improve investigations, strengthen communication and create systems that help bring people home.

Moreover, we’re learning how technologies such as geospatial mapping, interoperable databases, social media campaigns, artificial intelligence and forensic innovations are transforming the search for missing persons and supporting Indigenous communities in their pursuit of justice.

This episode is not merely about technology. It is about humanity, visibility and responsibility. It is about recognizing that innovation becomes most meaningful when it serves people whose voices have historically been overlooked.

Beautiful, if you have personal experiences, reflections or opinions on this topic, I would absolutely love hearing from you. Please send me an e-mail at coucou.goddess@gmail.com and share your thoughts. Your voice matters and contributes to our growing Goddess of Technology community.
