このコンテンツについて
This is hard. Doing things differently is hard.
In this episode, I talk about the excitement of the "aha" moments of insight and clarity. In a recent talk I gave to nutrition students, a brave student shared how hearing the talk was bringing up a lot for her and that she may be ready to get support for her own relationship with food.
There was beauty and pain in that moment - beauty in her vulnerability in sharing and also pain, in how hard it is sometimes for us to realize we need support and then to go through to steps to find it. That moment also solidified the importance of continuing to have this conversation, give these talks, and keep planting these seeds in the dietetics community.
I also talk about how insight is not always enough. Education and "knowing" can start the process, but it is showing up, day after day, for ourselves where the change and growth can happen. Healing also often happens in connection; connection with support people perhaps, but also in connection with our loved ones, our community, and most importantly in connection with ourselves.
