This week, we review Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991), Michael Pressman’s family-friendly martial arts comedy sequel packed with mutant mayhem, pizza-fueled action, and classic ‘90s nostalgia. Paige Turco stars as reporter April O’Neil, while the heroes in a half shell, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael, return to battle the villainous Shredder as he unleashes a new threat using the mysterious mutagenic ooze. With mutant experiments, ninja showdowns, and the debut of Tokka and Rahzar, the film leans further into its comic-book absurdity while exploring the origins of the Turtles themselves.
