In this episode, Ian has an emotional and thought-provoking talk with T.J. Hoogsteen about the challenges of working in rural schools in Saskatchewan, Canada, and particularly how the historical treatment of indigenous populations continues to impact on students today. T.J. Hoogsteen has worked in public education since 2008. He has spent his entire career working in rural schools in Saskatchewan. Over the last 15 years, he has accumulated 11 years of school leadership experience as a Vice-Principal and Principal, as well as being a classroom teacher, literacy interventionist and coach. Passionate about personal development, he completed his doctorate from the University of Western Ontario in 2018. Since then, T.J. has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has taught at the Master's level for Royal Roads University.
