HAPPY PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY!
Tita Lors is hosting today and we’re kicking it off talking about each of our cultural backgrounds and the impact/importance of exposure to other cultures. Tita Lors asks Robin how she came to understand her cultural background as a child and then both host swap stories about their made up family histories. Eventually we get around to exploring the history of how we came to celebrate Philippine Independence day on June 12 and the impact of colonialism on Philippine culture. We start to wrap it up with an uplifting story that asks: What is a love story that’s so beautiful it hurts? Then end as usual with glimmers.
