  • 9: Tony Tanti: Vancouver’s Original Sniper.
    2025/08/14
Tony Tanti, known to many as one of the first true snipers in Vancouver history, joins John Shannon and Landon Ferraro on 100% Canucks. Originally drafted 12th overall by Chicago in 1981, Tanti was traded to Vancouver in 1983, where he blossomed into an elite goal scorer, netting at least 39 goals in five straight seasons and winning the team’s “Most Exciting Player” award five times in a row. He also played in the NHL All-Star Games in 1984 and 1986 and became a fan favorite for his knack for finding the back of the net.

On today’s episode, Tony reflects on how he first arrived in Vancouver, shares personal favorites from his years behind the broadcast mic, and revisits life overseas in Europe. The conversation also touches on how he navigated the transition to post-hockey life—making his way into business and finding a rhythm outside the rink. It’s a warm, behind-the-scenes look with a Canucks legend.

    2025/08/09
Legendary Canucks voice Jim Robson joins John Shannon and Landon Ferraro to look back on a remarkable broadcasting career that made him “The Voice of the Canucks” for nearly three decades. Robson, who began calling NHL action in Vancouver's first game in 1970 and continued until his retirement in 1999, shares some of his most memorable moments and reflects on how the game—and his role in it—evolved over time. He produced more than 2,000 NHL broadcasts across radio and TV, and called four Stanley Cup Finals (1975, 1980, 1982, 1983) and multiple All-Star games, earning him a place in the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame, the BC Hockey Hall of Fame, and a 1992 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award recipient. From his signature greeting to hospital patients and shut-ins, to iconic playoff calls like “He will play… on crutches,” Robson’s stories reveal the heart and soul behind the microphone.
