Believers are called to live in alignment with the divine nature by forgiving those who offend them. Although the flesh or ego naturally responds to offense with retaliation, revenge, and self-preservation, we must rise above these tendencies and walk in divine love. Thus, true forgiveness is possible, even when others appear to have deliberately hurt us.
In this message, “Unforgiveness - Part 3,” Pastor Jeffrey Walter teaches that, during His earthly walk, Jesus aligned His will with the Father’s desire to forgive, setting an example for believers to follow. He reveals that although people may intentionally hurt others, they often act under spiritual blindness or illusion. He explains that unforgiveness results from viewing others through the lens of the flesh, while true forgiveness comes when we see them from God’s perspective—as people in need of mercy and spiritual transformation. He concludes that every offense is an opportunity to surrender the flesh, align with God’s heart, and walk in divine love and compassion toward others.
As you listen to this message, may you receive grace to forgive those who offend you.
Key Scripture: Luke 23:33-34 (KJV)
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
