Deep in the forest, a hungry lion and a bear both discover a picnic basket left behind by humans in a clearing. Believing they are the respective queen and king of the woods, they immediately begin to argue over who gets to eat the salami and snacks inside. A raven watches from the trees and suggests they share the meal to avoid a conflict, but the lion and bear rudely tell her to leave. The two beasts then launch into a violent fight, clashing with fur and claws until they are both battered and out of breath. While they are distracted by their brawl, the raven carries the basket up to the highest branches of a skinny tree. The lion and bear attempt to climb after it but fail, realizing the raven has outsmarted them. Left with nothing but their bruises, the animals finally acknowledge that they should have shared the food from the very beginning.
