Are you a Christian struggling with anxiety?
Beloved,
When Jesus ascended to heaven after His resurrection—victorious, glorified, and seated in authority over all creation—He could have left us with any gift. He had conquered sin, death, and fear. He knew every pain, every worry, every tear we would ever shed. And in that moment of divine farewell, He chose to leave us with one precious gift above all others.
In John 14:27, He said:
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
This wasn’t just a wish or a hopeful sentiment. It was a divine deposit—His very own peace, forged in the fires of the cross and sealed by the resurrection. The Savior who walked through every human trial chose peace as your inheritance.
If you’ve confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, that peace is already yours. But a gift, no matter how powerful, only transforms your life when you receive it—when you take hold of it by faith.
So how do you receive what God has promised?
You go to His Word. You search out the promises that speak directly to your need. You read them. Speak them. Meditate on them. Let them shape your thoughts, your prayers, and your perspective. When anxiety whispers lies, you answer with truth: “Christ has given me His peace.” You declare it. You dwell on it. You stand on it.
Hold fast to His Word—and watch how it renews your mind, calms your spirit, and draws you deeper into His presence. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). In fact, He’s already running toward you.
