Strong and fit, twenty-six-year-old Sandra Nkosi has lost everyone, but has no time for sentimentality. She is among the first to join a military street team. Checking homes, roads, alleyways, and buzzard trails in search of the dead, she and her street team partner Daniel Romano unceremoniously transport them to the burn yards.
Although they come from opposite ends of the spectrum, over time, the two form a deep friendship. When Daniel learns about a program that will guide them safely into the future, they agree to sign up together. But only one of them will live long enough to join the Endocarp Program.
What awaits in the future is something far darker than either of them could ever have imagined.
