KURBAS – The Audio Drama is an immersive international audio drama exploring the legacy and artistic vision of Les Kurbas, one of the most radical innovators of 20th-century European theatre.
Set during his imprisonment in a Soviet labor camp, the drama unfolds in the shadow of Kurbas's approaching tragic fate while reflecting on broader questions of freedom, memory, and the role of art in times of political oppression.
Blending historical research with poetic storytelling, KURBAS unfolds through powerful dialogues, rich sound design, and original music that functions as a narrative force, creating an experience that sits between audio drama, musical, and documentary.
Recorded largely in Kyiv in 2025 under extraordinary circumstances, it carries the resonance of voices shaped by history, resilience, and artistic resistance.
Performed by an international cast and created by a multidisciplinary creative team, KURBAS – The Audio Drama is a one-of-a-kind listening experience: cinematic, emotional, and deeply human.
