概要
This is a collection of poems about abuse and its impact on our lives and about healing. Healing is critical because if we do not heal, we end up bleeding on people who might never have harmed us.
Many times, a still-wounded person stuffs the pain and can rise above it but, eventually, hits a ceiling or sabotages him or herself. Statistics show that about four out of five people have dealt with abuse in some form in their lives.
These poems deal with all forms of abuse: verbal, mental, emotional, physical, and sexual. It is in the telling of our story that we can move from “survivor” to “empowered”. By listening and relating to these stories, we are able to let go of the pain and move into acceptance, forgiveness, and wholeness.
