When sisters Nora and Melody Hart discover they've inherited their grandmother's Vermont inn—complete with guests—just before Christmas, they find themselves reliving the holidays of their past, for better or worse.

It's been half a lifetime since the sisters have spent a holiday at their father's childhood home, and with no family left but each other, Melody longs to hold on to fond memories nearly as much as Nora has tried to forget them. Thanks to a helpful (and rather handsome) guest, Melody brings the spirit of Christmas back to the house, hoping that old traditions will convince her sister to keep the inn.

Nora tells herself that she is only partaking in festivities to give the guests the service they expect, but as January looms along with the return to her secure but lonely life in New York City, she struggles to think of saying goodbye to the inn . . . and to her first and only love who has also found his way back to the charming New England town—and her heart.

Meanwhile, quiet guest Faith has traveled across the country to celebrate Christmas on her own at the quaint country inn, only to discover a secret hidden in the old, rambling house that could change everything.
