This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. What if food could do more than simply keep us alive? What if the meals we prepare and share could strengthen relationships, create memories, build confidence, connect cultures, and bring a little more kindness into the world?
That is the heart of Parsley Is World Peace in Disguise.

In this newly revised edition, Red Seal Chef, author, and culinary educator Chef Dez goes beyond recipes to explore something much bigger: our relationship with food and with each other.

This is not a cookbook. It’s a book about life, with food as the common thread.

Through personal stories, humour, practical ideas, and thought-provoking assignments, Dez explores how our senses can transform an ordinary meal, why kitchens can strengthen families, how teaching children to cook gives them skills for life, and why supporting local farmers, butchers, bakers, and merchants strengthens our communities.

Most importantly, he reminds us that food has no borders. Every culture cooks, gathers, and celebrates. We may speak different languages, hold different beliefs, and live very different lives, but eventually we all arrive at a table.

The original 2017 edition was written during an emotional period following the passing of Dez’s dear friend and business partner, Caryn Zimmerman, after a brief battle with cancer. Nine years of life, reflection, and writing later, Dez returned to the book to more fully express the message he originally wanted it to carry and to honour Caryn’s memory.

This revised edition is more than an update. It is a second chance to tell the story properly.

Cook something. Taste something new. Invite someone over. Teach a child. Ask for that old family recipe. Experience another culture through its food. These things may not change the entire world. But they might change someone’s world. Sometimes changing the world begins in the kitchen, around a table, simply by sharing food.

Food nourishes the body. What we do with it can nourish a life.
