Daniel Davison is 18 years old. He just got his A-level results this morning. Three years ago he taught himself to cut hair from YouTube videos, started in his kitchen, moved to his bathroom, and convinced his father to help him convert a derelict garage into The Garage Barbershop in Peel. They spent three months working on it at night and weekends. He’s now fully booked. A year ago, bored after 7pm when the barber shop closed, he started a marketing business running Facebook and Instagram ads for hair transplant clinics across the UK and Australia. He’s got three companies on retainer and is trying to scale it. He was just offered a place at university but is deferring for a year to focus on the businesses. He’s also the youngest declared candidate in the 2026 general election, running for Glenfaba and Peel because there’s no young voice in government and he wants to be in the room when decisions that will affect his generation are being made. This is a conversation about entrepreneurship, self-teaching and what it means to bring a young voice into politics when you’re simultaneously running two businesses.
