MySpace made you pick a top eight and live with the consequences, AIM away messages were basically therapy, and if you missed one turn on your MapQuest printout your whole night was over. We’re throwing it back to the early 2000s with a full nostalgia panel: me, Mike Bono, with Tony, D Frank, and Mister, digging into the decade that flipped the world from analog to digital in real time.

We talk about where we were when the 2000s started, what it felt like to remember pre 9/11 and then adjust to everything after, and how fast tech changed our day-to-day lives. Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter show up mid-decade, but the real heartbeat is MySpace, AOL Instant Messenger, and that early internet feeling of discovery. We also relive the price-per-text era, pagers and Nextel chirps, the indestructible Nokia brick, and how wild it is that the iPhone doesn’t arrive until 2007.

Then we run the whole 2000s pop culture gauntlet: favorite music and artists, the baggy jeans and Timberlands era, classic TV from Sopranos Sundays to The Office, and why 2000s comedy movies felt like the last time the whole theater laughed together. We close with the bigger question: did we trade something real when social life moved onto our phones?
