What happens when grief shows up but nobody has died? In this episode of From the Eyes of a Daddy’s Girl, we explore grief outside of death, the kind of grief that comes from relationships changing, dreams ending, people walking away, unanswered questions, broken connections, and moments in life that force us to say goodbye to what we thought would always be. Grief isn’t always about losing a person to death. Sometimes, we grieve the relationship we wished we had. We grieve the version of ourselves we used to be. We grieve opportunities, family dynamics, friendships, marriages, childhoods, expectations, and even the future we imagined and sometimes, the hardest grief is grieving someone who is still alive. Through a daughter’s perspective, this episode creates space for the uncomfortable truth that loss can happen without a funeral. There may be no sympathy cards, no flowers, and no formal acknowledgment of what you’re going through but the pain is still real. Join me as I talk about recognizing these invisible losses, giving ourselves permission to grieve them, and learning that healing doesn’t always mean forgetting or getting back what we lost. Sometimes healing means accepting what is, releasing what was, and finding peace in what comes next because grief isn’t only about death. Sometimes, grief is about letting go and sometimes, letting go is how we finally begin to heal.
