- Cristian was 34 years old and had founded Cristian Rescata in 2023, a digital platform for rescuing people through social media.
- By February 2023 Cristian had been named alternate assemblyman for Los Ríos representing Revolución Ciudadana and served as vocal of the Secretariat for Indigenous, Montubio, and Afrodescendant Peoples of Ecuador.
- Nicole and Cristian had been together for approximately nine years producing content centered on solidarity and direct aid.
- Their children, Tiago (Cho Rudito) and Sofi (Yayita), were old enough to recognize their parents on screen and remember the evenings before the attack.
