To endure well means responding to life's difficulties in a way that honors God. It means remaining faithful, trusting Him, and allowing yourself to be transformed to reflect His character.

We will all face temptation, seasons when things don't happen in our preferred timing, suffering and loss, and moments when faith feels especially challenging. But just like physical endurance requires training even when you're tired, spiritual endurance means continuing to trust and obey God even when circumstances are difficult.

Both physical and spiritual endurance require consistency, discipline, and a greater purpose beyond the discomfort. The discipline and endurance we build through fitness can strengthen our ability to live a life of faithful endurance with Christ.

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." — James 1:12

"God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." — 1 Corinthians 10:13

"Let us lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross." — Hebrews 12:1–2

  • The Connection Between Physical & Spiritual Endurance

What does it really mean to endure well?

In the very first episode of Endure Well, I share the heart behind this podcast and why I believe the discipline we build through fitness can point us toward something even greater: a life of faithful endurance with Christ.

We’ll explore what Scripture teaches about perseverance through passages like Hebrews 12:1–2, James 1:12, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Ephesians 2:8–9, and 2 Timothy 4:7, and discuss how God uses life’s challenges to strengthen our faith.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Why I started Endure Well and what the name means.
    • The connection between physical discipline and spiritual discipline.
    • What it means to “lay aside every weight” and run the race God has set before us.
    • Why consistency matters more than intensity—in both fitness and faith.
    • How salvation through Jesus makes a relationship with God possible.
    • How to continue trusting and obeying God through temptation, suffering, uncertainty, and everyday life.

Whether you’re training for a race, building healthy habits, or simply trying to stay faithful in a difficult season, my prayer is that this episode encourages you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, trust Him in every circumstance, and endure well.

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus…” — Hebrews 12:1–2
