Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, had already produced dozens of tornado warnings across the South when the National Weather Service office in Morristown issued one more at 11:23 PM for Hamilton County, Tennessee. Two minutes later, a tornado touched down about three miles southeast of downtown Chattanooga. This episode reconstructs the EF3 that followed, a storm with estimated peak winds of 160 miles per hour that reached half a mile wide as it moved northeast at fifty miles per hour through the Hickory Valley and Brainerd neighborhoods, where older homes with unreinforced masonry stood little chance. The tornado's total path ran seven and a half miles. The documentary traces the radar signature meteorologists watched tighten near Harrison, the roughly ninety seconds many residents had to find shelter, and the damage survey that rated the storm the strongest tornado to strike Chattanooga in decades, along with the memorial services and Red Cross shelters that followed.
