Hey there, and welcome. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, on a Saturday morning like this one, I'm guessing your to-do list might already be whispering—or maybe shouting—in the back of your mind. Maybe you're thinking about all the things you should be doing right now instead of sitting here. That's exactly why we're doing this together. Let's create some real focus and productivity, the kind that actually feels good. So go ahead and get comfortable wherever you are. You don't need to be perfect about this. Just find a spot where you can sit or lie down for the next few minutes, and let's begin. Take a deep breath in through your nose, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Again, breathing in calm, breathing out whatever's been cluttering up your mental space. One more time. Beautiful. Now let your breath find its own rhythm. You're not doing anything here except being present. Here's what I want you to try. I call it the Spotlight Technique, and it's been a game-changer for my own productivity practice. Imagine your attention is like a spotlight on a stage. Right now, that spotlight is bouncing all over the place, lighting up your email, your calendar, that thing you forgot to do yesterday. We're going to train it. Focus that spotlight on one single thing. Maybe it's the feeling of your feet on the floor. Maybe it's the sensation of the air moving in and out of your nostrils. Pick something simple and real. Now notice what happens when you try to keep that spotlight steady. Your mind will wander—that's not failure, that's just being human. The moment you notice the spotlight drifting, that's your win. That's the moment of awareness. Gently bring it back. You're literally rewiring your focus muscle right now. Do this for the next two minutes. Spotlight on your breath. Noticing when it drifts. Bringing it back with kindness, not frustration. There's no judgment here. When you step back into your day, carry this with you. Before you dive into work, place that spotlight intentionally. One task. One focus point. When your mind pulls toward the next thing or the seventeen other things, you know exactly what to do. You've just practiced it. Thank you so much for spending these moments with me on Productivity and Focus. If this resonated with you, please subscribe so we can keep doing this together. You've got this.
