A burgundy cardigan sleeve juts from a snow-filled ditch at dawn; Gary Zeller stops his plow and finds forty-four-year-old Denise Baker face-up in eleven-degree air with no coat. The impossible detail: a laminated hospital visitor badge-barcode blacked out with a strip of electrical tape-tucked into her chest pocket with no clear reason.
In this episode, we trace the Route 9 corridor, the empty service-bay corridor, and three women last seen near travel plazas within minutes of strangers leaving. We compare surveillance gaps, manual-issued hospital badges, and matching strips of black tape cut to the same width-then ask who could carry those badges for years and why. Keywords: homicide, investigation
ES: Victim: Denise Baker
Date: January 4, 2019
Location: Route 9 corridor, Kellner County ditch
Status: Homicide (exposure)
- A visitor badge from Orchard Glen Hospital, issued fourteen months earlier, found in Baker's chest pocket though she never visited that hospital.
- The badge barcode was deliberately covered with a three-sixteenths-inch strip of black electrical tape, later matched to badges on other victims.
- All three victims were last seen within a quarter mile of Route 9 travel plazas and found hours later in ditches with no coat and no signs of struggle.
- Frontier Refreshment technician Chad Rogers' keycard logs show he left each plaza 14-16 minutes before each victim's last confirmed camera sighting.
