Welcome back, friend. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. It's Friday morning, and I'm willing to bet that your to-do list is looking at you like an overeager puppy right now. There's so much to do, so little time to do it, and somewhere between the emails and the deadlines, you've lost that thread of calm focus that actually makes work feel good instead of just frantic. So today, we're going to find that thread again together. Let's start by just arriving here, exactly as you are right now. Wherever you're sitting or standing, just notice what's underneath you. Feel the weight of your body being held by whatever surface is supporting you. There's something grounding about that simple fact, isn't there? You're already held. Already supported. And from that place of being held, we can actually focus better. Now, let's breathe together. Breathe in through your nose for a count of four. Hold it for a moment. Now exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of six. That longer exhale? That's like telling your nervous system it's safe to settle down. Let's do that two more times. In for four. Out for six. Beautiful. Here's what I want you to do right now. Think of your focus like a river. When a river is scattered across a floodplain, it moves everywhere and nowhere at once. But when that same water flows through a channel, it becomes powerful. Unstoppable. Right now, I want you to mentally choose just one task. Not your whole list. Not your whole day. Just one thing that matters most in the next two hours. Hold that one thing in your mind like a river holds a current. Feel how different that feels? How much lighter? Now, imagine that one task as a straight, clear path ahead of you. Notice the color of that path. What does it feel like under your feet? You're moving forward with intention now, not scattered energy. When you finish here and step back into your day, keep that river image close. Every time you feel your attention scattering in five different directions, pause and remember. One channel. One current. That's where your power is. Not in doing everything. In doing what matters with your whole self. Thank you so much for spending this time with me on Productivity and Focus. I hope this practice settles something in you.
