Emeritus Professor of Languages with over 30 years of teaching in Sacramento State University Dr. Fausto Avendaño talks about the poetry he has written, as well as his historical novels such as: Santa Maria, a Historical Novel about life in California after the Mexican American War. He presents a Romantic Novel as well: Paola and Raymond, breaking the typical rom-com cliches and giving a fresh perspective. The protagonist is a male, and the circumstances are more realistic. We get to read what the protagonist is thinking: financial frustration, fear of long term commitment and humorous moments where the protagonist can't wrap himself around how other people act around him. Dr. Avendaño is a member of Los Escritores del nuevo sol and has 2 literary prizes to his credit. As a FullBright Fellow, he was an exchange professor in a French university in Toulouse, France.
