Today's homily by Fr. Chris Alar reflected on the inspiring life of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint, whose unwavering faith in Christ led her to endure rejection, suffering, and persecution after her baptism. Despite the hardships she faced, her last words, "Jesus, I love You," beautifully expressed a life completely surrendered to God.
Fr. Alar contrasted St. Kateri's courageous witness with the growing indifference toward the Christian faith in today's culture, reminding us not to take the gift of Baptism for granted. He also reflected on historical attacks against Christianity, including the anti-Christian persecution during the French Revolution and the Nazi regime's assault on the dignity of human life through its forced sterilization policies.
