Dr. Shanita Brown is a counselor educator, licensed clinical mental health counselor, researcher, author and advocate dedicated to helping individuals heal from trauma. She serves as a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Counselor Education Program at East Carolina University, where her work focuses on trauma-informed care, intimate partner violence, mental health, and student wellness.
Dr. Brown is the author of Healing & Thriving After Domestic Violence: A Practical Guide for Black Women, a book that combines her clinical expertise, research, and personal experiences to support survivors on their journey toward healing and empowerment. Through her teaching, counseling, and advocacy, she continues to promote mental health awareness and create spaces for survivors to heal and thrive.
