概要

On a cold November night in 1998, I pulled over at mile marker 13 on a stretch of county road outside Pottsville, Missouri, because my engine was overheating. That's where I met a woman named Marguerite, who told me she was waiting for a ride that had been promised to her in 1972. She was still waiting, and as the hours passed and the fog rolled in, I began to understand that the road itself was keeping her there.
