概要
Today’s fact-checkers assure us that they analyze speech without fear or favor and promise to hold powerful politicians and pundits to account when they lie to the public. It turns out that they themselves are often among the biggest liars in our larger political dialogue. Presented with claims or facts that are inconvenient for the dominant media narrative, fact-checkers slant their rulings. The benefit of the doubt is repeatedly extended to one side, but not the other. When presented with conflicting expert opinions, fact-checkers often choose to give more credence to the liberal expert. Fact-checkers are not the dispassionate outside observers of politics and society they pretend to be.
Fact-checkers cannot be trusted to fairly police our political discourse. They have biases that they refuse to acknowledge, temper, or overcome. The blind faith that social media companies have in fact-checkers’ rulings and pronouncements is a danger to our democracy and only serves to further divide our country. Fact-Checking Frauds exposes the techniques fact-checkers use to slant and stifle our political dialogue and place certain topics off-limits for discussion. This is the audiobook fact-checkers and their media allies don’t want you to hear.
