概要
High pressure is ruling the skies, bringing us a picture-perfect beach day with a moderate rip current risk to keep us on our toes. From Sandestin to Panama City Beach and all the way down to Apalachicola, we're looking at sunny conditions and temperatures hovering in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Surf's up at around 2 feet today - not massive, but enough to give water enthusiasts some gentle waves to play with. Water temperatures are chilly at 53-56 degrees, so you'll want that wetsuit if you're planning to catch some waves.
Winds will start easterly this morning, then shift to the south by afternoon, blowing around 5 to 10 miles per hour. The UV index is moderate to high, so don't forget your sunscreen - those rays are no joke!
The tide in Panama City will peak at 1:45 PM, giving you plenty of time to plan your beach activities. Sunrise is around 7:30 AM, with sunset closing out the day at 6:24 PM.
Looking ahead, we're expecting mostly sunny conditions through Tuesday, with surf heights dropping to around 1 foot. Wednesday brings a chance of showers and slightly warmer temperatures in the upper 60s. By Thursday, we'll see a high rip current risk, so beach-goers will need to exercise extra caution.
Remember, even with moderate wave conditions, rip currents can be life-threatening near jetties, piers, and reefs. Stay alert, swim smart, and enjoy our gorgeous Gulf Coast beaches!
