बेङ्गलूरुनगरे कस्मिंश्चित् पञ्चतारापेते उपहारमन्दिरे केनचन युवकपाचकेन अनुजायाः विवाहनिमित्तं उपहारमन्दिरस्य स्वामिने दशसहस्ररूप्यकाणि ऋणरूपेण प्रार्थितानि। किन्तु तस्य प्रार्थना निराशतायां पर्यवसिता । कदाचित् सुखासने त्यक्ता यानपेटिका दृष्टा युवकेन । ताम् उपहारमन्दिरस्य स्वामिनः समीपे अनयत् । सप्ताहः अतीतः चेदपि पेटिकायाः विचारणार्थं कोऽपि न आगतः इत्यतः स्वामी यानपेटिकातः दशसहस्ररूप्यकाणि निष्कास्य पाचकाय अयच्छत् । किन्तु तन्निराकरोति पाचकः । नवमे दिने पेटिकायाः‌ स्वामी आगत्य 'धनपेटिकायाः रक्षणे करणीभूतः अयं पाचकः' इति ज्ञात्वा दशसहस्ररूप्यकाणि दातुं यदा उद्युक्तः तदा सः पाचकः ऋणरूपेण ददातु इति प्रार्थितवान् । तथैव अकरोत् पेटिकायाः स्वामी ।

In Bengaluru, at a five-star restaurant, a young cook requested a loan of ten thousand rupees from the owner for his younger sister’s wedding. The request was denied. Later, the cook found a suitcase left behind on a sofa and brought it to the owner. A week passed, but no one came to claim it. The owner then took out ten thousand rupees from the suitcase and offered it to the cook. The cook refused. On the ninth day, the true owner of the suitcase arrived. Realizing that the cook had safeguarded the suitcase, the restaurant owner again wished to give him ten thousand rupees. This time, the cook requested it as a loan, and the owner agreed.
