    Senior Toru Dean became one of the focal points of Langston University's Men's Basketball Team when he arrived during the 2022-2023 season. Because of his leadership on the court, the Lions are 66-5 over the last two seasons, with an appearance in the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Tournament to cap off another incredible season. Listen to Toru's story as he tells us how he started playing, the incident that almost took basketball away from him, how his career at Dear Langston went, and what is next for him post graduation.

    Growing up with an abusive stepfather caused Byrion to struggle with self image and worth early in her life. Even after her family's escape, depression and anxiety crept its way into her thoughts. Little did she know her outlet would run up on her... literally! Now, she has the opportunity to continue her running at Langston University as a member of its Track and Field team.'
