  • The Repetitiveness of Change with Scout Tzofiya Bolton
    2025/10/30

Change is one of life’s only constants—but that doesn’t make it easy. In this special guest episode, Jay and Dave talk with Scout Tzofiya Bolton about The Repetitiveness of Change.

Scout opens up about living with schizoaffective disorder, why they once moved constantly to control change, and how time in prison forced them to confront change in its rawest form. Together we discuss resilience, acceptance, and the small ways we can manage change without letting it control us.

    This episode explores:

    • Control vs. acceptance in adapting to change

    • How our instincts (fight, flight, freeze) shape reactions

    • Self-reflection, resilience, and healthier coping strategies

    • What we can all learn about embracing the unpredictable

Scout’s a radio presenter and poet, with four full-length poetry books under their belt — the most recent, The Mad Art of Doing Time, was written while they were in prison.

Their main radio work is with the Prison Radio Association’s National Prison Radio, which reaches around 80,000 people across England and Wales. That’s where they present The Rock Show, which won them a Gold Aria in 2025 for Best New Presenter.

They also work with BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service, and their documentary The Ballad of Scout and the Alcohol Tag picked up both a Gold Aria and a Gold New York Festivals Award in 2025.
