On the evening of the resurrection, the disciples huddled together unsure what to make of the rumors and eyewitness accounts that Jesus was alive. Then suddenly, He stood among them. The same hands that had been pierced were now in front of them. The same voice that cried out on the cross now spoke peace into their despair. In that moment, the disciples were changed. The crucified one was not only alive—He was bodily present, eating with them, opening the Scriptures, and revealing that His suffering and resurrection were all part of God’s plan of redemption.
