On today’s edition of The Dog Experience Podcast, I chat with Patterdale Terrier expert Emma Phillips. You might remember Emma Phillips from our in-depth chat on all things Terrier from Genetics Junefest (link to that interview here).
Brought into the dog world via a baptism of fire, courtesy of her two Patterdale Terrier littermate puppies, Emma’s experience have led her to undertake a Masters Degree in Animal Behaviour from the University of Edinburgh, run her successful training business Paw by Paw Dog Training and Behaviour, and seen her regularly compete in Competition Obedience and Agility.
We dissect some common issues that arise with Patterdale Terriers, unpack some of the exercises and concepts necessary to unsure their needs are met, and provide advice for both caregivers and professionals alike on how to work with this intense, but stunningly intelligent breed.
