  • Shattered Strings: The Pat O'Brien Case, Cannibal Corpse Guitarist's Home Arson, TRUE CRIME

    In this episode, we delve into the shocking events surrounding Pat O'Brien, former guitarist of the legendary death metal band Cannibal Corpse. On December 10, 2018, O'Brien was arrested in Tampa, Florida, after allegedly breaking into a neighbor's home and assaulting a sheriff's deputy with a knife, all while his own residence was engulfed in flames. The ensuing fire revealed a disturbing arsenal of over 80 firearms, flamethrowers, and thousands of rounds of ammunition, prompting an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) .

    O'Brien's erratic behavior during the incident led to charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and burglary of an occupied dwelling. Described by witnesses as possibly hallucinating and speaking about the "rapture," he was subdued with a Taser after charging at deputies .

    In March 2021, O'Brien was sentenced to time served, five years of probation, 150 hours of community service, and ordered to pay restitution. He was also mandated to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations and treatment .
