Tonight, Anthology of Horror resurrects one of America’s most enduring ghost stories — The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Originally written by Washington Irving, this timeless tale of superstition, ambition, and fear has been adapted and rewritten by Spring Heeled Jack for modern audiences.

Set in the mist-shrouded valley of Sleepy Hollow, the story follows Ichabod Crane, an ambitious schoolmaster whose vanity and greed draw him into the heart of the Hollow’s oldest legend — the haunting of the Headless Horseman. Through fear and folly, Ichabod learns that some ghosts are born not from the grave, but from the darkness of the human heart.

Like the legend itself, this episode bridges the old and the new — weaving classical horror with modern sound design and original scoring to create an immersive, cinematic experience.

    Credits:

    • Original Story: Washington Irving
    • Adaptation & Rewrite: Spring Heeled Jack (Anthony Landis)
    • Produced by: Mickie Eberz
    • Partial Score by: Scott Wilson
    • Music by: Empress
    • Closing Songs: both traditional folk songs reimagined and revived for a modern age, much like the story of Sleepy Hollow itself.

  • Ye Olde Finale
    2025/10/31

    Text us

Tonight marks the end of the Anthology of Horror Halloween Special — thirty-one consecutive nights of darkness, madness, and beautifully unhinged storytelling. For the grand finale, host Spring Heeled Jack closes the season by turning the mic over to the listeners themselves. The night’s stories come straight from the audience: true confessions, eerie encounters, cursed objects, and the strange, sometimes funny, sometimes terrifying things people swear have happened to them after midnight. Some are believable, some aren’t — but all of them are haunted in their own way.

Scoring the night’s chaos is Empress, whose music has defined the tone of the entire Halloween run.

Their songs tonight, in order of appearance, are:

    Stains on the Wall

    Fracture

    Monster

    All of the Girls

    You Were Gone,

Everybody Wants Me Except the Man I Want

    Down on You

The Devil Made Me Do It

This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

    I Fucked the Devil Once

    The Pines

    Wayfaring Stranger.

    This episode was

    Produced by Mickie Eberz,

Narrated by Spring Heeled Jack (Anthony Landis),

Written by you — the listeners.

    Original music by Empress.

Happy Halloween, and thanks for surviving the month.

  • The Black Sarcophagus
    2025/10/30

    Text us

On Night 30 of the Anthology of Horror Halloween Special, we exhume something ancient, something sealed away for a reason. Written by Tenac, “The Black Sarcophagus” drags listeners into the world of cursed relics, buried secrets, and the arrogance of those who disturb the dead. Inspired by the pulpy charm of old adventure-horror tales and the timeless dread of what lies beneath the sand, this story reminds us that some doors were never meant to be opened.

Thirty nights deep into the Halloween special, the line between fascination and fear grows thinner than ever—and what’s found inside The Black Sarcophagus may be better left forgotten.

    Credits:

    • Story: “The Black Sarcophagus” by Tenac
    • Narration: Spring Heeled Jack (Anthony Landis)
    • Produced by: Mickie Eberz
    • Music by: Empress

Guest host Elle Green presents “Curation,” a chilling vision of the dystopian future of humanity. Stripped of speculation and delivered as written, the story examines the remnants of a world where what defines humanity—memory, art, and identity—has been cataloged, controlled, and preserved long after the living have forgotten why.

  • One Word Story
    2025/10/28

    Text us

On Night 28 of the Anthology of Horror Halloween Special, simplicity becomes sinister in “One Word Story” by Anthony Naranjo. It’s a tale that strips horror down to its bare bones—tight, precise, and quietly unnerving. The premise seems harmless at first, but as the words begin to build, something dark begins to emerge between the lines.

Tension grows not from what’s said, but from what isn’t. Each word carries weight, each silence feels deliberate, and by the time the story reaches its conclusion, it’s hard to tell whether you’ve read a story… or been trapped inside one.

    • Produced by: Mickie Eberz
    • Music by: Empress
    • Closing Song: “Spellbound” by Empress

Tonight’s episode of the Anthology of Horror Halloween Special features an anonymously submitted story titled “The Well.” It arrived without background or explanation—only a short note claiming that it’s true. Whether it is or not remains up for debate, but one thing’s certain: there’s something unsettling about the way it was written, something that feels too specific to dismiss outright. We present it here exactly as it was received—unverified, unedited, and unnerving.

  • My Grandfather's Final Invention
    2025/10/26

    Text us

On Night 26 of the Anthology of Horror Halloween Special, we step into the flickering workshop of memory with “My Grandfather’s Final Invention” by Alice Thompson—a haunting story of legacy, obsession, and the ghosts we leave behind in the name of progress.

It begins with a granddaughter uncovering the remnants of her grandfather’s secret work—an invention whispered about but never revealed. What she finds in the dust and shadows of his abandoned study challenges everything she thought she knew about him. Piece by piece, the truth begins to take shape: a machine built not to serve, but to remember; not to live, but to linger.

As the story unfolds, the line between creation and curse grows dangerously thin. The question becomes not what he built—but why it’s still running.

Tonight’s episode of the Anthology of Horror Halloween Special drifts into that uneasy territory where folklore, rumor, and reality blur together. This chilling account—submitted by an anonymous author—claims to be based on actual events. What begins as an unremarkable story soon twists into something much darker, something that feels too personal, too vivid, and too specific to be entirely fabricated. Whether it’s truth or fiction is for you to decide—but some stories, once told, have a way of clinging to the mind long after the credits roll.

    This episode was:

    Produced by Mickie Eberz

Narrated by Spring Heeled Jack (Anthony Landis)

    Written by an anonymous author.

All original music was written and performed by Empress, and the closing song is “In the Name of Love” by Empress.
