I'll be honest, I was nervous recording this one. Which felt like the right place to start, because today is about what's going on underneath that feeling and what it actually takes to build confidence when you don't have it. No fake-it-till-you-make-it. The real work.

For a long time, I didn't have it. Skinny kid, some questionable fashion choices, avoiding rejection wherever I could, dodging anything that might dent my self-belief. Like so many people, confidence just didn't come naturally for me. I built it one small step at a time.

Today, I get into the fear of judgment, of failure, of rejection that quietly ran my life for years and what helped me build it from the ground up. Why your identity should sit with the action and not the outcome and the six words a senior leader said to me that I carried for the next 20 years.
