Wednesday, November 25th: Episode 648 explores Colossians 3, where Paul calls believers to live out their new identity in Christ by setting their hearts on things above and putting to death the old patterns that once shaped their lives. He uses the imagery of taking off old clothes and putting on new ones to describe the transformation that happens as believers grow into their new self. Paul emphasizes the importance of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and above all love, which binds everything together. The chapter calls Christians to let the peace of Christ rule their hearts and to let His word dwell richly within them. Paul then applies this new identity to household relationships, urging believers to let the life of Christ shape how they love and lead in their closest relationships. Ultimately, the passage teaches that Christian transformation flows from identity, not effort, and invites listeners to live as people who are chosen, holy, and dearly loved.
