あらすじ・解説

Daniel Kahneman explains the two systems that drive the way we think. System 1 is fast, intuitive, and emotional; System 2 is slower, deliberate, and logical. Kahneman exposes capabilities and the faults and biases of fast thinking and reveals the pervasive influence of intuitive impressions on our thoughts and behavior.

He explains the impact of loss aversion and overconfidence on corporate strategies; the difficulties of predicting what will make us happy in the future; the challenges of properly framing risks at work and at home; and the profound effect of cognitive biases on everything from playing the stock market to planning the next vacation.

Engaging the listener in a lively conversation about how we think, Kahneman reveals where we can and cannot trust our intuitions and how we can tap into the benefits of slow thinking. He offers practical and enlightening insights into how choices are made in both our business and our personal lives and how we can use different techniques to guard against the mental glitches that often get us into trouble.

nice book

This book is extremely comprehensive, yet none of the material can be considered "filler" nor did I consider any of it to be boring in any way.

I'm lost in the first 10 minutes!

I've never had an audible summary lose me right from the start. I'm 10 minutes in and can't figure out what this lady is even talking about. Maybe this is good if you've read the entire book first and already have an understanding of these "systems" she is talking about. This is literally a waste of my time to even continue listening. :(

terrible

this summary is read by a terrible reader who goes fast monotone there's no time to think or to process the last sentence before the next sentence is happening. Very disappointed. Thought I had bought The Complete Book and ended up with this crazy summary.

Very boring narration,almost robotic.

Dull narration. Very hard to keep concentrated when narratiom is so drab, especially when considering the subject matter can be heavy at times. This one is better served reading than listening.

GREAT BOOK, TERRIBLE NARRATED

I love the book THINKING, FAST AND SLOW. But how it was narrated by Cathi Colas is just unenjoyable. Voice, speed, intonation - everything was awkward.

Quick Listen.

Insightful look at a different mode of thinking. Intriguing title, well thought out and worthy content. I was a little surprised at how much systems thinking could be applied to every area of life, despite not really being familiar with it. Good weekend listen.

Fantastic. Enjoy this book.

My hats off to this author for making the principles about the functioning of systems so easily accessible to us by looking at common day-to-day systems that we see or participate in, in light of these principles.

Just a summary

I mistakenly purchased this book, thinking it was the full audiobook. It is a one hour summary. I now have to buy the full one elsewhere - it exists, by a different reader.

Great exploration.

For those interested in an in-depth look at systems thinking, the author provides an extensive list of references to explore. The citations are well done, making it easy to locate which resources to utilize for further exploration.
