A selection of the very best of Chinese poetry over the course of a thousand years, from 100 years before Christ was born up to the middle ages. Arthur Waley's translations of Chinese poetry are still the benchmark by which such translations are held, nearly 200 years after he introduced the west to the wonder of classical Chinese poetry.

Good material very badly read!
It was a brilliant insight to publish this material as a audiobook , but surely it merits a more sensitive reading than this I’ll-thought-out and monotonous sing-song production, but frankly I am glad to have it in virtually any performance style rather than not at all. There is more Chinese poetry out there but please dignify it with a more nuanced reading.
